Due to the varying shapes and sizes there is a solution for almost every absorption need. Wigrex has a very extensive program for these absorption materials, divided in two main groups: Universal (all fluids) and Oil Only (specifically for hydrocarbons, water-repellent).
Advantages of absorbents with regard to granules:
- Easily applicable: Place mat or hose on or around the fluid. Within several minutes the liquid is absorbed. It can then easily be taken and removed. In case of chemical or flammable fluids one should, of course, think of personal protection and of removal as chemical or flammable waste.
- Easy to transport or to store: a pack of 100 mats weighs some 5 kg (dim. 50x40x60 cm) and can absorb 90 l to 100 l of fluid.
- Lightweight, low removal costs.
- No dust forming / polluting of machines and parts etc.
- No spreading caused by the wind or walking / driving through it.
- Applicable to all sorts of fluid, available in several shapes and sizes.
- Also very suitable as a precautionary material, e.g. on a working table, around leaking machines, under leaking flanges etc.

Oil Only absorbents have been developed specifically for the absorption of hydrocarbons such as oil and greases. These are water-repellent absorbents.
Universal absorbents are universally applicable to any kind of fluid. Water or water solvable fluids (such as coolant), oil and fuels, (corrosive) chemicals, any fluid is quickly and effortlessly absorbed by these absorption materials. The absorbents are applicable in daily industrial use and available in different variants such as mats, roles, hoses, cushions, etc. |
